Branka is the Co-Founder and Director of The Flourish Project and an experienced Registered Psychologist.
Branka holds the following qualifications:
Bachelor of Psychology (Honours)
Master of Psychology (Health) - The University of Adelaide
Specialist Certificate in Criminology (Forensic Disability) - The University of Melbourne
Master of Psychology (Clinical in progress) – The University of Adelaide
Professional membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS)
Branka is a warm and engaging psychologist who enjoys working with adolescents and adults and is committed to working collaboratively with people to improve their quality of life and overall well-being. Branka believes in an individually tailored approach to therapy and mentoring that is based on values and builds on strengths. Branka considers it a privilege to work with people during times of difficulty in their lives, as well as people who want to learn more about themselves, build resilience and flourish. Branka combines positive psychology, neuroscience, mindfulness and acceptance and commitment therapy in her approach. Branka maintains an interest in working with clients of various cultural backgrounds and is fluent in Serbian, Bosnian and Croatian.
Branka has extensive experience in the area of disability and mental health, having worked in both the private and government sectors. Branka also maintain an interest in the field of forensic disability and draws on years of experience together with specialised postgraduate study to provide violence and sexual risk assessments, court reports, treatment, consultancy, and training services within the forensic disability sector. Branka has presented in the area of forensic disability developed and delivered an anger management program for offenders with an intellectual disability, which was nominated for the 2016 Australian Crime and Violence Prevention Awards.
Branka has experience in management and leadership positions in the government and non- government sectors that she brings to her corporate work. Branka is experienced in the area of management, service improvement and reform within the disability sector. She has a strong background in strategic planning, the design and delivery of therapeutic models of care, accommodation and behaviour support system reviews for disability providers as well as designing and providing tailored training packages.
Branka’s passion is to reduce the stigma of mental health and helping people connect in modern times and build resilience, uncover strengths and find calm to lead more meaningful and engaging lives.
